A little about me...

Hi, my name is Michael - I'm the owner and founder of Custom Bike Fit.

I started bike fitting professionally in 2012 after a life changing event saw me walk away from almost 2 decades in technology sales. Cycling and, even more so, triathlon, were my 'outlets' during that 20 year period, and I feel blessed that I've been able to turn my passion into a business.

Over the past 13 years, I've helped literally thousands of cyclists and triathletes avoid pain, discomfort and injury, so that they can spend more time comfortably doing something that makes them happy - riding their bike!

I work out of my own bike fit studio, located in Coolum Beach on the Sunshine Coast. That space is equipped with bike fit technology which assists with rider video analysis and 3D motion capture. I also stock items such as saddles, handlebars, aerobars, hydration and storage systems. I very much believe in offering an end-to-end solution which is both consultative and collaborative.

As well as fitting clients on their existing bike(s), I offer a pre-fit service to help determine the correct size bike, crank length and cockpit (handlebar/stem, aerobar, etc) makeup. I have a dynamic fit bike designed specifically for this purpose.

I work remotely with clients around the world via my remote/virtual fit program.

In 2024 I started the "Bike Fit Academy" a bike fit education business which teaches people to do exactly what I've done - start their very own 6-figure bike fit business. Whilst this is a relatively new service, I have to date mentored individuals in Rockhampton, Cairns, Melbourne and Brisbane.
